The short version
Paddy Power is the UK bookmaker that built its identity on one idea: give you a better price than your mate’s bookie on the match you’re actually watching. Boosts – the standing feature where Paddy Power raises the price on a selection, on single bets, acca legs and Bet Builder combos – are the product, and for football punters they’re the reason the account exists. It’s a Betfair-group brand, which shows in the product’s price-conscious character, and it’s been licensed for real-event betting in the UK since 2014.
One straight note before anything else: the welcome offer on our card (“€£30 free bets when you bet €£5, code YSKAST, min odds 2.0”) could not be re-verified on 16 October 2026 – paddypower.com doesn’t expose its offer content to automated checks, and we won’t quote the code as live on that basis. The current offer is on the promotions page the day you register; the mechanics to check for are listed under the offer section.
Paddy Power at a glance
- Licence: UK Gambling Commission – sports betting under account 39439 (PPB Counterparty Services Limited, the Paddy Power Betfair group), real-event betting active since 1 Nov 2014; the Betfair exchange runs on the group’s sibling accounts (39411, 39426, 52819). Checked 16 Oct 2026.
- Sports: football (the core), UK & Irish racing, tennis, golf, darts, snooker, US sports.
- Signature feature: price boosts – on singles, acca legs and Bet Builder, with conditions per boost.
- Streaming: selected events, funded-account eligibility – never the Premier League.
- Age: 18+, GamStop-covered, full UK limits and self-exclusion toolset.
Sports and markets
The football coverage is the point of the brand: the Premier League, the big European leagues and the cups carry the full menu – result, goals, both teams to score, corners, cards, scorers – with in-play building through the match. Racing gets proper treatment on the main UK and Irish cards (win/place, each-way at posted terms, in-play on the big meetings), which keeps Paddy competitive with the high-street heritage books rather than ceding all racing to them. Tennis, golf, darts (the full PDC season) and snooker round out the core, with the US sports running their seasons. As with every bookmaker, the long tail beyond the headline fixtures is where menus thin out – we’re describing the product’s shape, not auditing a market count today.
Boosts: the feature that defines it
When Paddy Power boosts a price, it’s paying more than its own standard odds on that selection – and the boosts run constantly across football, racing and the big events, including “Super Boost” combinations on the headline fixtures. The practical reading: a boosted price is real extra value if the conditions are met, but each boost carries its own terms (usually a minimum number of selections or a market restriction), and an unmet condition voids the boost, sometimes to the standard price and sometimes to void. Read the specific boost’s terms before you lean on it – that’s the whole relationship with the feature in one sentence. The site’s own interface flags boosted markets with badges, so the value is visible on the slip rather than hidden in a promotions page.
Around the boosts: in-play betting on the main fixtures, cash out on eligible bets (the economics never change – the offer sits inside the margin, it can disappear, and accepting below stake is a loss-cut, not a refund; our cash out guide covers it), and Bet Builder on selected football matches where you stack your own combination of markets at a combined price.
Streaming
Selected events stream to eligible accounts (funded balance or recent bet), set per season and rights. The universal rule: no UK bookmaker streams the Premier League (Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Amazon). The play icon on the fixture page is the test; our streaming guide compares the setup across the books.
Deposits and withdrawals
The standard UK method set applies – cards, bank transfer, Apple Pay/Google Pay, PayPal and e-wallets; the live list and minimums sit on the deposit page. One pattern worth knowing for welcome offers at UK books in general: e-wallet deposits are commonly excluded from new-customer promotions, so check the specific offer’s funding terms before you pick your method. Withdrawals run method-dependent plus the operator’s processing plus your bank’s or wallet’s receipt time; first withdrawals can wait on identity verification, which is the UKGC requirement best handled at sign-up.
The welcome offer – what we can and can’t confirm
Our card shows: €£30 free bets when you bet €£5, code YSKAST, minimum odds 2.0. We could not re-verify that exact offer on 16 October 2026 – the site’s offer content isn’t accessible to our automated checks, and rather than repeat a possibly-stale code we’re telling you what to confirm instead: the current headline, the qualifying stake, any code, the minimum odds, the expiry on the free bets (the norm is 7-14 days), whether the stake is returned (it isn’t, on free bets), the funding restrictions (watch for e-wallet exclusions), and whether the €£ pairing means the offer runs in your account currency. Those six checks take two minutes on the promotions page and decide whether the card is still accurate – if it isn’t, the current offer replaces it, and that’s the version you should judge Paddy Power’s welcome by.
The Betfair connection
The group ownership isn’t just a footnote: Betfair’s exchange runs on the same family of UK licences (the paddypower.com and betfair.com domains are both registered to the PPB accounts in the public register). For punters who lay as well as back, the two products complement each other – betting with Paddy at a boosted price while the exchange sets the “true” market is the classic value workflow. We’re noting the relationship, not recommending a strategy; exchange betting has its own edge requirements our strategy guides deal with separately.
Support and complaints
Support runs through the site and app; we haven’t tested response times and state none. The formal path: Paddy Power first (in writing), then the independent ADR named in the terms, with the UKGC above both. The licences (accounts 39411-39439 and 52819) are all public in the register.
Safety and your money
Licensed for Great Britain by the UK Gambling Commission with the standard licensee obligations – customer-money protection per the operator’s terms, mandatory age and identity checks, and the full account toolset: deposit, loss and wagering limits, reality checks, time-out, self-exclusion, plus GamStop. Set the deposit limit at sign-up, when it’s a two-click decision. Free help: GambleAware, GamCare; the full toolset on our safer gambling page.
Paddy Power versus the rest
The comparisons that matter: Bet365 for in-play depth across all sports; Coral and Ladbrokes when racing is the main event; Unibet and Coral when you want a welcome offer we can currently verify (bet-£20-get-£40 and bet-£5-get-6×£5 respectively, both checked 16 Oct 2026); 888 Sport as the football-first alternative. Same licence standard across all of them – the difference is which price you’re chasing and on which sport.
Frequently asked
Is Paddy Power legal in the UK? Yes – paddypower.com is registered to the Paddy Power Betfair group’s UKGC accounts (sports betting under 39439, active since 1 Nov 2014); verified in the public register 16 Oct 2026.
Is the YSKAST offer still live? We couldn’t re-verify it on 16 October 2026 (the site doesn’t expose offer content to automated checks). Confirm the current offer, code and conditions on the promotions page before depositing.
What’s a Boost, exactly? A price above the bookmaker’s standard odds on a specific selection, with its own conditions. Met conditions pay the boost; unmet ones void it. The badge on the slip is the marker.
Does Paddy stream the Premier League? No UK bookmaker does. Paddy streams selected other events for eligible funded accounts.
Sources and dates: UKGC public register (accounts 39411-39439, 52819) and paddypower.com’s site structure and product badges, captured 16 Oct 2026; offer content not accessible to automated capture that day, so the welcome is flagged unverified rather than quoted. Desk research – no funded account, no bets, no timing tests. Corrections.
