Who we are
Our website address is: https://betonsports24.com. We are a small editorial website; questions about your data can be sent to [email protected].
What this site tracks, and why
We keep tracking on this site minimal, and this is the full list as at the update date:
- Google Analytics (via the Google Site Kit plugin): anonymous usage statistics – pages viewed, approximate region, device type and how you arrived. Analytics data is processed by Google under Google’s own terms; we do not set a custom retention schedule. The cookie notice on this site governs your choice for non-essential cookies, and you can also stop analytics at the browser level.
- Affiliate link redirects: when you use one of our links to a bookmaker, the click goes through our own /go/ redirect, which records the click and passes an affiliate identifier to the bookmaker. No personal data is included in the link itself. What the bookmaker then collects about you is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
- Cookie notice: the banner you see on first visit lets you choose which non-essential cookies are allowed. Your choice is stored on your device.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising networks on this site.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Accounts and login
If you have an account and leave a comment, your comment is stored with a metadata string that includes your IP address and browser user agent string to assist spam detection. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
How long we retain data
Beyond what’s stated above for comments and accounts: analytics records are managed under Google’s processing for Site Kit, and cookie-notice choices live on your device (clear them in your browser at any time). We do not maintain separate long-term stores of visitor data. If you believe we are holding data about you that you want removed, contact us and we will deal with it.
What rights you have
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. You can withdraw your cookie choices at any time via the cookie notice, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for UK residents, the Information Commissioner’s Office – ico.org.uk).
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Analytics data is processed by Google as described above. When you follow an affiliate link, the bookmaker you visit receives the data described in its own privacy policy.
